Lehigh hosts Sheridan Duals

Lehigh's wrestling team returns home Saturday December 8th to host the Sheridan Duals at Stabler Arena, after an impressive third place finish in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Lehigh currently ranked 12th in the nation will face two unranked teams before going up against 7th ranked Ohio State.
Wrestling action begins at 10 am with the Brown and White facing off against Rutgers, Lehigh's first EIWA opponent this season. In the EIWA's preseason poll Lehigh was ranked second with Rutgers following the Mountain Hawks ranked third. Last season Lehigh met Rutgers at the Sheridan Duals and defeated the Scarlet Knights 28 to 9. All eight of Lehigh's starters came up with a win in one of the strongest dual efforts of the season. Rutgers returns seven EIWA ranked starters; #4 Andrew Uhrlass (125), #3 Ryan Brennan (133), #4 Byron Lauer (165), #5 Justin Haskins (174), #1 Tom Tanis (184), #3 Ryan McGrath (197), and #5 Tom Petko (285).
At noon Lehigh will match up against Ohio. This will be the second time the two teams have met. Last year in Lehigh's first ever dual versus Ohio, the Mountain Hawks recorded a dominant 35 to 6 victory over the Bobcats. Lehigh's final match will be at 2:00 against the 7th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. This will be the first time these two teams have shared the mat. During this match a total of 14 top ten nationally ranked wrestlers are expected to face off. Ohio State features ten nationally ranked wrestlers while Lehigh will hit the mat with four. The biggest bout of the afternoon will come in the 197 lb weight class, as Lehigh's third ranked Jon Trenge will collide with the Buckeye's fourth ranked Nick Preston.
The Mountain Hawks match against the Buckeyes will be televised on Service Electric Cable TV-2. The match can also be heard on the Sports Monster 1230 (WEEX-AM).
