Lehigh heads to D.C. for pivotal showdown with AU

Lehigh is unbeaten away from home this season having won both of its road games and a neutral site game. The Mountain Hawks were last in action on Wednesday afternoon when they went down-to-the-wire with a very strong Drexel team before falling 14-13. Three different Mountain Hawks, Lauren Dykstra, Meghan Tenety and Inneke Carmola scored four goals apiece in that one, while sophomore goal keeper Kelsy Ferris made 14 saves.
On the season Dykstra leads the entire Patriot League with 27 goals, including 20 in her last four games. Dykstra has earned three consecutive Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors and has scored at least once in all seven of the Mountain Hawks games. Sara MacIntyre has added 18 goals in the early going, while Carmola has found the back of the net 17 times for a Lehigh team that us averaging 15 goals per game.
MacIntyre also leads the team in ground balls (19) and draw controls (19), while sophomore Jen Ingalls is the team leader in caused turnovers with ten. The Mountain Hawks defense has been solid all year long, having held four opponents to ten goals or less. Ferris has totaled 64 saves on 169 shots in 2008, having played 378 minutes in that time.
American enters this weekend’s game following an 11-7 victory over Longwood on Tuesday on the road. The Eagles have won two straight, including a league victory over Bucknell last weekend.
Kristine Vida, the team’s starting goal keeper, leads the Eagles with 21 ground balls, and she has stopped 72 shots in 390 minutes of action in goal.
American has yet to win a game at home this season, going 0-3 versus the likes of Drexel, Old Dominion and
