Ross receives honorable mention

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the third straight week a Lehigh player has been recognized by the Patriot League. Alex Ross received her sixth career honorable mention for her play against Yale this past week. In the team’s 67-61 overtime victory, she scored 23 points, one shy of her career high, and knocked down five three-pointers for the fourth time this season, tying her career high. Her fifth three-pointer of the game sparked a 6-0 run for the Mountain Hawks in overtime to help secure the team’s seventh victory of the season.

Ross currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game and ranks 45th in Division I, averaging 2.4 three-pointers per game. Last week Kaela Pearce earned Lehigh’s second Player of the Week award, with Tricia Smith earning the honor the week before.

The Mountain Hawks will return to play on Wednesday, when they travel to Penn for their final non-conference game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., with Jeff Tourial calling the action on 91.3 WLVR-FM in the Lehigh Valley and around the world on Lehighsports.com, with streaming provided by Yahoo! Sports.
