JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lehigh ends its five game road trip Sunday afternoon against Jacksonville University. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a 54-50 win on Friday night at North Florida. Tricia Smith led Lehigh with a season high 14 points and a career high 12 rebounds. The Mountain Hawks saw a complete turnaround in their shooting in the second half, shooting .429 for the half, outscoring the Ospreys 31-28. The play of Lehigh’s guards helped secure the win, accounting for 45 of the teams total 54 points. Kaela Pearce had 13 points, coming off of 10-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. Erica Prosser and Alex Ross each added seven points of their own. Smith also added two steals, one assist and one block.
The Dolphins started the season with three straight wins, but have only won two of their last four games. On Wednesday night, Jacksonville picked up its fifth win of the season, in a 75-64 decision over Florida. The Dolphins had two players in double figures, led by Regina Omotie with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals. Virginia Gregoire chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Finding themselves down by a point at halftime, Jacksonville outscored the Gators 45-33 in the second half to come away with the easy win.
This is the first meeting in school history between these teams. The Mountain Hawks are 2-0 all-time against the Atlantic Sun Conference, while the Dolphins are 3-1 all-time against Patriot League teams.
