Mountain Hawks look back at 2006-07 season

Senior Adrienne Blount was named the team’s Athlete of the Year, which is presented to the team member who makes the most outstanding athletic contribution to the accomplishments of the team. Blount, who was named Second-Team All-League for the second straight season, led the team in points with 12.5 per game. Her 8.3 rebounds per game not only was the best on the team, but also in the Patriot League. She was Lehigh’s top rebounder in 25 games, including 11 straight. The Mahopac, N.Y. native recorded seven double-doubles, including a pair in the Patriot League Tournament that landed her a spot the All-Tournament Team.
For the second consecutive year, senior captain Sara Ellis was selected as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The Scholar-Athlete award goes to the student-athlete who in the eyes of his/her teammates exemplifies the ideal of the scholar-athlete. An industrial engineering major, Ellis maintains a 3.49 grade point average. On the court, Ellis is Lehigh’s all-time three-point field goals made leader with 238, which is second all-time in the Patriot League. She dished off a team and career-high 116 assists, while scoring 284 points and grabbing 114 rebounds.
The Coaches Award is presented to the individual who made significant contributions to the well being of the team in terms of attitude, improvement, or special leadership. Senior Emily Geosits was the recipient of this year’s Coaches Award. Geosits appeared in 22 games this season, sinking a pair of three-pointers against Bucknell on February 20 and then dishing off a career-high three assists against Holy Cross on February 24.
The final honor was the Sixth Man Award, which is given to the individual who makes a major impact upon the program. Executive Director of Student Auxiliary Services David Joseph was selected as this year’s Sixth Man.
