BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks had another two players earn honorable mention from the Patriot League for their performances in Lehigh’s two games last week, as it was announced by the league on Monday. Senior Adrienne Blount picked up her second honorable mention of the season, while freshman Alex Ross became the first Lehigh freshman to earn the honor.
Blount shot 90.9% from the line as she sank a career-best 10 free throws in the Mountain Hawks’ home opener against Penn on Thursday night. The Mahopac, N.Y. native is currently shooting 75.0 percent from the free throw line, which is seventh best in the league. She also pulled down 18 rebounds last week, including 11 in Lehigh’s 55-48 win over Syracuse on Sunday. Blount is averaging 9.0 rpg, which is third overall in the league.
Ross had a standout game against Syracuse on Sunday as she led the Brown and White with 21 points off the bench. Ross shot 8-for-11 from field goal range and was 3-for-4 when shooting three-pointers. The Columbia, Tenn. native also recorded four steals against the Orange, which has been the most recorded by an individual this season. Ross maintains a 52.6 field goal percentage, which is a team-best and is eighth in the Patriot League.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Friday night when Princeton visits Stabler Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
