Lehigh returns to the hardwood following a seven-day lay-off , as the Mountain Hawks look to snap a two-game losing streak in Patriot League play by welcoming traditional league power Holy Cross to Stabler Arena on Saturday night. Last time out, the Mountain Hawks shot just 56% from the free throw line in a three-point setback at
Lehigh has not fared particularly well in close contests this season. The Mountain Hawks are just 2-7 in games decided by eight points or fewer. Lehigh is 0-4 in games decided by 1, 2, or 3 points.
Meanwhile, the Crusaders topped Colgate on Tuesday to improve to 4-1 in league play, a half game behind Army. Holy Cross was once again the preseason pick to win the league crown. Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in three-point field goal defense, allowing the opposition to connect on just 28.7% of its shot attempts from beyond the three-point arc.
Although Holy Cross has dominated the all-time series between these two schools, the Mountain Hawks and Crusaders have split over the last four seasons, with each team winning on the other’s home floor twice.
Saturday night’s game tips off at 5:05 pm EST, and tickets are still available. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Lehigh ticket office at (610) 7LU-GAME, by visiting Lehighsports.com anytime, or at the Stabler Arena box office on game day.
