Mountain Hawks return home to host Columbia

Lehigh looks to stop a two-game slide tonight as the Mountain Hawks return to Stabler Arena to host Columbia in the final non-Patriot League game of the season. Last time out, Lehigh shot just 35% from the floor in a five-point setback at previously-winless Yale. Junior captain Sara Ellis did manage to score 20 points, including 11-for-11 from the free throw line. In the process, Ellis moved into a tie for second place on LU’s all-time three-point field goals list with Cat Nicholson ‘03. The Mountain Hawks were out-rebounded for just the fourth time this season in the loss.

Columbia heads to Bethlehem to take part in its first game of the new year. The Lions are 4-6, and are looking to build on a road win at Wagner on Friday night. Columbia has only won one previous game at Stabler Arena. Lehigh has controlled the all-time series between these two schools, winning eight of the 11 previous encounters. Columbia has won three of the previous five meetings.

When playing at home this year, the Mountain Hawks are almost as hot as the temperature inside Stabler Arena. All four of Lehigh’s wins have come at home.

Wednesday’s game tips off at 7:35 pm from Stabler Arena, and tickets can be purchased at the arena box office.
