Lehigh hits the road for the first of two as the Mountain Hawks visit Navy on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks are riding high after clinching home court advantage for at least the first two rounds of the upcoming Patriot League tournament with a ten-point win over previously unbeaten Holy Cross last time out. Four Lehigh players scored in double figures, and the Mountain Hawks sank 29 free throws in the win. Meanwhile, the Mids looks to get back on track after dropping a seven point decision to Bucknell here on Sunday. When these two teams met last month at Stabler Arena, the Mountain Hawks earned a 12-point win. Thanks in large part to its ten-point win over Holy Cross (Feb. 13), Lehigh has clinched a top two finish in the league standings by virtue of a four-game lead over Colgate with only three games remaining. Holy Cross (10-1) and Lehigh (9-2) will each host the first two rounds of the Patriot League postseason tournament on their home floors. Navy enters Saturday’s affair with an 8-16 record and a 4-7 mark in Patriot League play. The Midshipmen have struggled to find consistency of late, dropping six of their previous eight contests. Senior forward Nikki Curtis has led the charge for Navy, scoring 12.2 points and pulling down seven boards per outing. She scored 12 and grabbed seven rebounds in the loss at Lehigh last month. Junior point guard Lauren Skrel leads the Patriot League in assists, with 5.2 helpers per game. Lehigh leads the all-time series, 17 wins to 15. The Mountain Hawks have won the last eight meetings between these two teams, and ten of the last eleven matchups. A win today will give Lehigh its fourth consecutive season sweep over Navy.
