With league play looming, Marist awaits Wednesday

Lehigh returns to Stabler Arena for its final tune-up prior to the start of Patriot League play as the Mountain Hawks host 2004 NCAA tournament participant Marist. The Mountain Hawks are off to their best start in nearly 20 years, and they continued their winning ways on Monday night with a 13-point triumph at Meanwhile, the Red Foxes are 5-5 in 2004-05 following a home win over Cornell on Sunday afternoon. Tonight’s game is the final non-conference game of the season for Marist. Marist enters tonight’s contest sporting a 5-5 record after picking up a 56-47 win over Cornell on Sunday. Red Foxes guard Alisa Kresge scored eight points and added a personal best eight assists in the win. Hometown senior guard Kristin Keller is the team’s leading scorer, at 14 points per contest. Junior Fifi Camara leads the Marist efforts on the glass, pulling down 8.6 rebounds per night. Marist won 20 games last season en route to a MAAC regular season and tournament title. Lehigh leads the all-time series between these two schools, three games to two. Before last season’s 13-point Marist triumph, the most recent meeting came in 1998. That year, the Mountain Hawks topped the Red Foxes by a score of 63-53. The series dates back to the 1990-91 season, when Lehigh topped Marist by a score of 66-52. The first Red Foxes victory came in the 1991-92 campaign, when Marist rolled to a 74-40 win.
