DePalo honored as league's Player of the Week

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh senior Jessica DePalo has been named the Patriot League’s Player of the Week for the first time this season after averaging over 22 points per game in three tilts last week. The recognition is voted on by members of the media as well as the league’s eight sports information directors.
In three contests last week, DePalo averaged a league-best 22.3 points per game, while shooting 54% from the floor. She averaged five rebounds per game, and nearly two assists and two blocked shots per game as the Mountain Hawks won two of three games away from home – including the school’s first-ever win over Atlantic 10 foe In the process, DePalo became the eleventh player in the history of Lehigh women’s basketball to reach the 1,000 career point plateau with her 28-point effort in the road win at With 1,044 career points, DePalo currently resides in ninth place in the program’s 31 year history. The Mountain Hawks are off to a 4-2 start in 2004-05, thanks in large part to DePalo’s efforts on the court. The captain leads the Patriot League in scoring at 19 points per game, while ranking second in field goal percentage (54.5%), and third in blocked shots (1.33 per game). She has paced her team in scoring in five of Lehigh’s six games so far this season. Lehigh has paused for final exams, and will return to the court on Saturday, December 18.
