To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore, as well as a starter or key reserve on her team with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.20. CoSIDA’s District II consists of schools in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
In the classroom, DePalo boasts a 3.23 GPA as a marketing major in Lehigh’s College of Business and Education. She has been selected to the Patriot League’s Academic Honor Roll twice for her hard work in the classroom, and has also captured Dean’s List recognition at Lehigh.
On the court, the co-captain has done it all for the Mountain Hawks. DePalo currently leads the team in scoring and ranks second in the league with 18.4 points per game. Her right rebounds per contest are also tops on the squad and third in the Patriot League. The two-time league Player of the Week is also tops in the conference in scoring against league opponents, with 21.9 points per outing.
DePalo’s recognition on the All-District team marks the fourth straight season that at least one Mountain Hawk has been represented on the squad. As a team, Lehigh ranks sixth in all of Division I in the latest WBCA report with a team GPA of nearly 3.2.
The Mountain Hawks return to the court this weekend for a pair of critical Patriot League contests. On Friday, Lehigh plays host to Army at 5:30. The Mountain Hawks wrap up their home schedule by hosting arch-rival Lafayette on Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
