Lehigh takes to the road to open the second half of Patriot League play as the Mountain Hawks visit Navy. The Mountain Hawks enter Saturday’s action in a four-way tie atop the league standings, but they will need to get back on track after dropping their last two league contests at home. Despite the two setbacks, junior Jessica DePalo continued her all-star play in the post, averaging 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest. Meanwhile, the Mids have been playing better basketball of late, winning three of their last four league games. Senior Courtney Davidson lit it up last weekend, posting two 30-plus point games. Last time out, Navy picked up a road win at Radford on Wednesday night. In the other meeting between the two teams, the Mountain Hawks defeated Navy 71-61 at Stabler Arena last month. Junior Jessica DePalo scored 25 points in the win for Lehigh. Senior Jana Ransom added 14 and freshman Sara Ellis 13 points. Courtney Davidson poured in 21 for the Midshipmen. Thanks to last month’s Lehigh victory, the all-time series between these two schools is even at 15-15. The Mountain Hawks have won the last six meetings between these two teams, and eight of the last nine matchups. Lehigh is 6-6 all-time against the Midshipmen in games played at Alumni Hall. Sue Troyan is 11-7 all-time against Navy. Action gets underway at 1:00 on Saturday afternoon. The game can be heard live in the Lehigh Valley on 91.3 FM (WLVR), and worldwide on Lehigh’s web site at lehighsports.com beginning with pregame coverage at 12:45.
