The Mountain Hawks pause from Patriot League play as Lehigh hosts Brown in a non-league battle at Stabler Arena. Last time out, the Mountain Hawks rolled to a 13-point victory over American to earn sole possession of first place in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks ran out 9-2 and never trailed again. Lehigh was led by 19 points apiece from Jessica DePalo and Sara Ellis. Meanwhile, the Bears began Ivy League play Saturday afternoon with a three-point victory over Yale. Nyema Mitchell was 9-of 19 from the floor with a game-high 22 points. A Lehigh win over the Bears tonight would be the Mountain Hawks sixth win in their last seven games, and it would even Lehigh’s record at 4-4 inside Stabler Arena. Lehigh and Brown have met eight other times, with the Bears capturing five of those previous contests. Last time the two teams squared off, the Mountain Hawks dropped a 5-point decision at Stabler Arena in 1997. Lehigh hasn’t defeated the Bears since an overtime victory at Brown in 1989. Tuesday’s game tips off at 7:00, and the action can be heard live on WLVR-FM in the Lehigh Valley, as well as on Lehigh’s web site at Lehighsports.com, with streaming provided by Yahoo! Sports. Tickets can be purchased at the Stabler Arena box office on game day.
