Mountain Hawks set to visit Binghamton
12/18/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Lehigh returns to the court Saturday afternoon following a 12-day layoff for final exams. Last time out, the Mountain Hawks rallied from a 15-point deficit but could not catch Columbia as the Lions went on to a 67-60 victory on December 8. The Mountain Hawks were led by Jessie DePalo’s 16 points and eight rebounds, and Jenny Callan’s ten points off the bench. Meanwhile, the Bearcats haven’t seen action since a 12-point loss at Army on December 10. Binghamton’s game against La Salle on December 14 was postponed due to snow. The Bearcats are led by Rachel Laws’ 13.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest. The Lehigh-Binghamton series is all knotted up at one victory apiece, with both teams winning games in 2001. The Bearcats captured the first-ever meeting between these two schools with an 18-point win at West Gym in February. The following season, Lehigh topped Binghamton 67-60 at Stabler Arena in December. Last season’s meeting, scheduled for Dec. 5 in Vestal, was cancelled due to an east coast snowstorm. Saturday’s game tips off at 1:00, and the action can be heard live on WLVR-FM in the Lehigh Valley, as well as on Lehigh’s web site at Lehighsports.com, with streaming provided by Yahoo! Sports. Micah Hart delivers the play-by-play.
