Lehigh returns home to host St. Joseph's Saturday
12/5/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Fresh off its first win of the season Wednesday night at Princeton, Lehigh looks to make it two in a row as the Mountain Hawks host St. Joseph’s at Stabler Arena. Last time out, three Lehigh players scored in double figures as the Mountain Hawks topped the Tigers by three to snap a four game losing streak. Meanwhile, St. Joe’s is off to a 2-1 start this season, but hasn’t played in a week. The Hawks participated in the postseason WNIT in each of the last two years. The Mountain Hawks return home for this battle of the birds, marking Lehigh’s first home game in over two weeks. St. Joseph’s leads the all-time series between these two schools, five games to none. The Hawks and Lehigh haven’t met, however, since a 1987 St. Joe’s win at Stabler Arena. That season, the Hawks rolled to a 70-45 victory over Lehigh. The only other meeting at Stabler Arena came in 1985, an 81-60 St. Joe’s victory. Saturday night’s game can be seen live in the Lehigh Valley on Service Electric TV2 Sports with Jeff Tourial and former Lehigh standout Anne Tierney. Radio coverage gets underway at 5:15 on WLVR-FM and lehighsports.com with Tom Fallon on the call. Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Stabler Arena box office on game day.
