Mountain Hawks return to action at Princeton
12/3/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Lehigh returns to the court to visit Princeton Wednesday, as the Mountain Hawks remain searching for their first win of the 2003-04 season. Lehigh recently returned from a trip to Boulder, Colorado where the Mountain Hawks were winless in the Coors Classic. Lehigh fell to California in the opener and Idaho State in the consolation game. Jessica DePalo, who has led Lehigh in scoring all four games this season, was named to the all-tournament team. Princeton is off to a 1-2 start, and the much-improved Tigers have dropped close contests at Nebraska and Louisville. Princeton picked up its lone win over Samford on Saturday night. Despite a 66-61 Lehigh victory over Princeton in January, the Tigers still lead the all-time series between these two schools, 10-6. The last Tigers victory came in the 2001-02 opener, when Princeton defeated Lehigh 76-61 in Jadwin Gym. In last season’s meeting, 11 points and 18 rebounds from Jessica DePalo led Lehigh to victory. Dawn Gorynski added 18 points, and Jana Ransom 14 in that win. Wednesday night’s game can be heard live in the Lehigh Valley on WLVR-FM and on the Internet at Lehighsports.com.
