Lehigh looks for its third consecutive league win on Friday when the Mountain Hawks visit first place Holy Cross. Last time out, the Mountain Hawks defeated Army 64-59 at Stabler Arena. Lehigh was led that afternoon by senior Anne Tierney, who scored 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. En route to the win, Tierney became the all-time leading rebounder in Patriot League history. The victory also moved Lehigh into second place in the league standings with a 4-1 record. Holy Cross enter’s Friday’s game as the only undefeated team in Patriot League play. At 5-0, the Crusaders are alone in the top spot of the league standings. Sophomore Maggie Fontana has led Holy Cross in the scoring column, averaging over 14 points per contest. Overall, the Crusaders lead the all-time series between the two schools, 27-2. One of Lehigh’s victories came last season – a thrilling double overtime win at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks are still in search of their first ever win at the Hart Center. Tip-off is set for 5:30, and the game can be heard live on the Lehigh web site at www.lehigh.edu and in the Lehigh Valley on WLVR-FM (91.3). Friday’s contest is the first of two on the road over the weekend. Lehigh visits Colgate on Sunday afternoon.
