Mountain Hawks host Penn in non-league clash

Lehigh takes a break from Patriot League play on Tuesday night as the Mountain Hawks host Pennsylvania at Stabler Arena. Last time out, Lehigh (5-9, 2-1 Patriot League) rallied from a 17-point second half deficit, but just came up on the short end of a 71-67 score to American. The Mountain Hawks were led by junior Jana Ransom, who scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds on the afternoon. The loss snapped Lehigh’s three game winning streak. Meanwhile, the Quakers come to Stabler looking to stop a two game slide of their own. Penn lost to St. Joseph’s last week in a Big Five contest. The Quakers were paced by Jewel Clark in the loss. She has led the team for much of the season, averaging over 18 points and nine rebounds per contest. Pennsylvania leads the all-time series between the two schools, 12-11, and the Quakers have won the last two meetings. Tuesday night’s game tips off at 7:00, and the first 1,000 fans through the Stabler Arena turnstiles will receive a free Anne Tierney bobblehead doll from Lehigh’s Captain’s Collection. The game will also be broadcast live on WLVR-FM (91.3) and on the Lehigh web site.
