Mountain Hawks set to battle Leopards
9/16/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The Mountain Hawks looks to stop a two-game slide when Lehigh heads east to visit the Lafayette Leopards in Easton on Wednesday. Lehigh stands in third place in the league, with a 7-5 record. The Leopards are 1-11 in Patriot League play. Last month, Lehigh handled Lafayette by a 68-35 score at Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks held the Leopards to only 12 first half points on the night. Lafayette’s 35 point output was the lowest total scored by a Lehigh opponent since Franklin & Marshall scored only 28 points against the Engineers in 1980. In last month’s contest, Lehigh forced the Leopards into 27 turnovers. With only two league games left in the regular season, and with the Patriot League tournament looming right around the corner, Wednesday night’s game has important tournament seeding ramifications for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh is currently tied with American University for the third seed. The Mountain Hawks-Leopards clash tips off at 5:37, with Lehigh radio coverage getting underway at 5:20.
