First place Lehigh takes aim at Colgate
9/16/2003 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball
More than halfway through the 2002 Patriot League schedule, the Mountain Hawks find themselves in a three-way tie atop the league standings. Six games remain on the docket before the tournament, the first of which pits Lehigh against the Colgate Raiders Wednesday night in Hamilton, New York. The Mountain Hawks are 6-2 in the league, fresh off two home wins last week against arch-rival Lafayette, and Army. Junior Cat Nicholson was 10-of-15 shooting, knocking down 7 three pointers and scoring a career-best 27 in the come-from-behind win over the Black Knights on Saturday. As for the Raiders, they split a pair of games last week, defeating Army in Hamilton but losing to American in Washington, D.C. over the weekend. The Raiders feature a quartet of freshmen that have captured league Rookie of the Week honors. Lehigh will be looking to settle the score with the Raiders and avenge an earlier 81-78 loss at Stabler Arena last month. Colgate is the only Patriot League team that has defeated Lehigh in Bethlehem this season. Meanwhile, Lehigh stands at 2-1 in Patriot League games away from the fan friendly venue. Wednesday’s game time is set for 5:30 at Cotterell Court.
