Mountain Hawks host Army Saturday

Lehigh enters Saturday’s action in a three-way tie atop the Patriot League standings. The Mountain Hawks are 5-2 in league play, and will host the Black Knights of Army, who are 3-4 in the league.

Last time out, Lehigh walloped Lafayette, 68-35. The Mountain Hawks used a stifling defense to pester the Leopards into 27 turnovers, and hold them to the lowest output by a Lehigh opponent in over 20 years. Anne Tierney and Carli Toliver, Lehigh’s two leading scorers, each scored 13 points in the win.

Army begins the second half of league play after an 88-65 loss at Colgate on Wednesday. The Black Knights are led by sophomore Katie Macfarlane, who is averaging over 18 points and 10 rebounds per contest. Macfarlane is the only player in the Patriot League averaging a double-double on the season.

Saturday’s showdown marks the second meeting of the season between the Black Knights and Mountain Hawks. In the first meeting on January 9, Lehigh downed Army 67-58 at Christl Arena in West Point.

Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased at the Stabler Arena box office, or by calling the Lehigh Ticket Office at (610) 7LU-GAME. Action gets underway at 5:30pm, with radio and Internet broadcast coverage kicking off at 5:15. The game will be televised live exclusively on Service Electric TV-2.
