Lehigh opens Patriot League play on Wednesday night when the Mountain Hawks visit the Army Black Knights in West Point. The Mountain Hawks are 4-9 on the season, while Army is 5-8. The game is the league opener for both schools. Lehigh is in need of a win, as the Mountain Hawks have dropped their last six contests. Last time out, Lehigh played very well but came up short in Chapel Hill against the nationally ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina. The Black Knights are on a bit of a roll of late, and have won four of their last five contests. Army is led by sophomore Katie Macfarlane, who is averaging over 18 points and 11 rebounds per game. The forward is the only player in the Patriot League averaging a double-double on the season. Army leads the all-time series between the two schools 15-9, but the two teams have split the series in each of the last four seasons. In 2000-01, the Mountain Hawks were 22-point winners in Bethlehem, while the Cadets rolled in the contest at West Point. Wednesday’s game is set to tip at 5:30 from Christl Arena in West Point. Audio pre-game coverage begins at 5:15.
