Mountain Hawks look for third straight

Lehigh will square off with UMBC on Saturday afternoon as the Mountain Hawks look for their third consecutive win. Lehigh is 4-3 on the season, while the Retrievers come to town with a 2-3 overall record (0-1 in Northeast Conference play). Led by 14 points from junior Cat Nicholson, the Mountain Hawks beat Binghamton 67-60 on Wednesday night. The win marked career victory number 88 for LU head coach Sue Troyan, tying her with Muffet McGraw as Lehigh’s all-time winningest women’s basketball coach. A win Saturday would place Troyan all alone in the top spot. Meanwhile, the Retrievers enter Saturday’s contest after a 75-69 win over Patriot League newcomer American University on Wednesday night in Baltimore. The UMBC win snapped a three-game losing streak. The Mountain Hawks-UMBC showdown marks game three of a four-game home stand for Lehigh. Saturday’s game can be heard live on the Internet at www.lehigh.edu, beginning with the pregame show at 5:15.
