BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks will finish off their three game road trip when they face the Princeton Tigers Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Princeton, N.J. In its last outing, Lehigh erased a 13-point deficit Sunday afternoon and rallied to defeat La Salle 58-47. The Mountain Hawks trailed at the half 29-20, but were able to pull everything together and hold the Explorers to only 18 second half points to close out the game. Princeton heads into Wednesday with a 4-1 record including a 32-point victory over American. The only blemish to the Tigers’ schedule came against UCLA where after leading for 25 minutes they couldn’t secure the victory.
Junior Erica Prosser led the Lehigh comeback against La Salle as she scored 11 of her 17 points in the second half against the Explorers. Her classmate Courtney Dentler came off the bench and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Despite hitting a season low two three-pointers the Mountain Hawks were able to generate enough offense to earn their fifth victory of the season.
Lehigh is 4-0 in night games this season and will look to get off to the second best start in program history with a win tonight (10-0 in 1984-85). The Mountain Hawks will have to shut down freshman guard Niveen Rasheed who has won three straight Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards and is averaging over 16 points per game.
Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening from Jadwin Gym at Princeton University. The game will be broadcast live on WLVR-FM (91.3) and Lehighsports.com with Jeff Tourial calling the action. Live coverage will begin at 6:45 p.m.
