Lehigh aims to sew up regular season PL title

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks will have the chance to clinch the Patriot League regular season title for the first time in school history when they host the Bucknell Bison tonight. Lehigh comes into the game already owning the third-most wins in school history (21) and can set a new school record for Patriot League wins in a season if it can earn number 11 against the Bison. Lehigh completed the season sweep over archrival
Bucknell comes into the game winners of its last three and five of its last six games. The Bison have jumped from the sixth spot into a tie for third in the Patriot League standings thanks to their recent success. Bucknell dominated Colgate on Saturday, grabbing a Sojka pavilion record 20 steals, including nine from Lauren Schober. The Bison shut the Raiders down by holding them to just nine first-half points on Saturday.
Lehigh and Bucknell have played an even series in the history of the two programs. Lehigh maintains a slight edge with a 32-30 lead in the 62 previous meetings. The Mountain Hawks come into the game winners of the last three games in the all-time series, including a 66-53 victory in Lewisburg on Jan. 28. Prior to last season, the Bison had been victorious in the previous three meetings including the last meeting in the postseason during the 2006 Patriot League Tournament. The squads have met three times in the tournament since Patriot League play began, with Lehigh winning two of those three elimination games. Lehigh has a 15-15 record against the Bison under head coach Sue Troyan.
