Williams caps off banner week with league honor

Williams rewarded the coaches’ decision to put her in the starting lineup the past two games by exploding for 11.5 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game in two wins for the Brown and White last week.
Williams saved her best game of the season so far for the matchup with Army on Saturday, scoring 17 points on just two field goals. The freshman sank 13 free throws on 16 attempts to tie a Lehigh record for makes from the charity stripe. In all, 33 of Lehigh’s 66 points came from the free throw line on Saturday.
Williams shot 44.4 percent from the field and sank 83.3 percent of her free throw attempts on the week. She also nabbed 2.5 steals per game and averaged 19.5 minutes per game last week.
The Mountain Hawks improved to 19-6, with an 8-2 mark in Patriot League play with the two wins. Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to
