Lehigh tries to remain unbeaten in Stabler Arena

Lehigh fell behind early to the Eagles on Saturday and could never quite dig out of the hole. The Mountain Hawks shot just 27.6 percent in the second half as the Eagles pulled away with a 52.4 percent effort in the final 20 minutes. American went on a 13-2 run at the start of the second half to open up a 16-point lead and put the game away. Courtney Molinaro came within one rebound of giving Lehigh its first double-double of the season with 10 points and nine boards off the bench in the loss.
Navy’s five-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday with a home loss to Bucknell. The Midshipmen had climbed into a tie for second place in the Patriot League standings but dropped back into a tie for third after the loss. This will be the 41st meeting between Navy and Lehigh. The series is all knotted up at 20 wins apiece in the 40 previous meetings. The squads have met 35 times in regular season league play since the inception of the Patriot League. The lone postseason meeting between the schools was in the 1997 Patriot League Tournament, with Lehigh prevailing, 70-62, in the semifinals. Any people associated with a branch of the U.S. Military or an emergency response unit such as the police department or fire department will be granted free admission to the game when they show an ID at the door. Additional tickets for family members may be purchased for half price at the door as well.
