BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head women’s basketball coach Sue Troyan has announced two updates to her staff for the upcoming season. Lauren Hall-Gregory has been promoted to assistant coach, while Gretchen Gregg is the program’s new graduate assistant. Hall-Gregory has been on staff since 2006, serving as the program’s graduate assistant, while Gregg arrives at Lehigh following a successful career at Cornell University which she capped off with the 2008 Ivy League Championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament.
During her time as the graduate assistant at Lehigh, Hall-Gregory assisted with the guards and point guards, oversaw academic progress, coordinated film exchange, and assisted in scouting and film editing and summer camp operations.
“We're very excited to be able to elevate Lauren into our second assistant position,” Troyan explained. “She has done an outstanding job in her role as our graduate assistant over the past two years, and brings with her a great understanding of our program, players and system as well as a strong understanding of Lehigh and what it takes to be successful here.”
She added, “Lauren has played a critical role in the development of our guard play over the last two years, and we look forward to her continued contributions in our player development and enhanced involvement in the recruitment area."

Gregg was a four-year member of the Cornell women’s basketball program where she earned Rookie of the Week honors as a freshman and helped lead the Big Red to 20 wins and the Ivy League Championship as a senior co-captain. Gregg started all 29 games for Cornell last season, averaging nearly nine points per game in that time, while leading the New York school to a final national ranking of fourth in three-point shooting percentage.
“Gretchen is coming off a senior season where she played a very important role in her team's success and championship year, as Cornell won the Ivy League Championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament,” said Troyan. “She has a very strong understanding of what it takes to be successful at an institution such as Lehigh, finding success as she balanced the academic demands alongside the demands of basketball. We're very excited for what she will be able to bring to our graduate assistant position."
Gregg worked numerous camps throughout her collegiate days, and also gained experience as an intern in the Cornell Student Services Office as well as a Teaching Assistant. Gregg graduated from Cornell in May with a degree in applied economics and management and will begin work on a master’s degree in education at Lehigh this academic year.
Lehigh returns nearly its entire team for the 2008-09 season, including both of its All-League selections and an All-Rookie Team pick. The Mountain Hawks season tips off on Friday, November 14 when they welcome the Quakers of Penn to Stabler Arena.
