Lehigh men, women sixth after day one at Navy

Johnson was the only Lehigh individual to reach the A final in his or her individual event. After one day of action both Mountain Hawk teams sit in sixth place.
The Lehigh women were paced by freshman Lauren Kindrick, who won the B final in the 500 yard freestyle, placing ninth overall with a time of 5:06.79. The Mountain Hawks placed a pair of swimmers in the B finals in the 200 yard individual medley, as junior Melanie Rolish finished tenth with a time of 2:11.80 and sophomore Liz Murray finishing 16th. In the 50 freestyle freshman Kristen Keenan placed 13th while senior Terry Mongan finished 15th.
Two relays were contested on Thursday, with Rolish and Keenan joining sophomores Laura Eull and Julie Sicherman to place fourth in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:55.26. Keenan, Mongan, sophomore Kailyn Finnegan and freshman Allison Montanye placed fifth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:37.96.
In the women’s three meter dive, sophomore Erin Tormey missed the final eight by six points and settled for ninth place.
On the men’s side, sophomore Kevin McGrath and senior Jon Kearney placed 13th and 14th respectively in the 200 IM. Freshman Matt Alford placed 16th in the 500 free with a finals time of 4:49.57. Lehigh’s 400 medley relay team of
