Ludwig and Werwaiss Earn All-League Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's swimming and diving had two members land on the All-Patriot League teams, as announced Tuesday afternoon. Junior Mairin Ludwig and senior Willa Werwaiss were both named to the first team for their performances at last weekend's Patriot League Championships.Â
This is the first time the two have garnered first-team all-league honors. Ludwig and Werwaiss both landed on the All-Patriot League second team last season.Â
Ludwig had the second-most points on the team (74) and the 17th-most points in the Patriot League. Ludwig came in third place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.26. She also took home a sixth-place mark in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.61) and a seventh-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Ludwig was also on each of Lehigh's four relays.Â
Werwaiss led the Mountain Hawks with 75 points, which was also 15th in the league in individual points. The senior earned bronze in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.01), marking the second straight year she took home third in the event. She was one place away from landing her second medal, taking home fourth place in the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.33). The Troy, N.Y. native was also on all four relays.Â
