ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh wrapped up day two of the Patriot League Championships by setting six more school records Friday at Navy’s Lejeune Hall. Senior Allison Rolish set her second individual school record of the championships, while the Mountain Hawk women set school records in both of Friday’s relay events. Lehigh’s men were led by a freshman class which accounted for two school records, plus the Mountain Hawks 800 free relay team broke a school record that stood for 19 years.

After two days of competition the Lehigh men stand in fourth place with 275 points, while the women are fifth with 208 points.

Rolish began her Friday, much like she did her Thursday setting a new school mark in the first preliminary event of the day, the 400 yard individual medley. Rolish posted a time of 4:27.17 in the prelims, then bested that mark with a finals time of 4:26.77 at night to place fifth in the event. Classmate Liz Murray competed in the consolation final, placing 15th.

Lehigh set its second and third relay record at the championships. The night session began with the 200 yard medley relay and Brooke Smalley, Stephanie Naylor, Alena Pollitt and Paola Simon posted a time of 1:46.63. In the evening’s final women’s event, Priscilla Barletta, Rolish, Katie Haycraft and Kristen Keenan set a school record with a time of 7:38.14 in the 800 free relay.

Haycraft joined Rolish as the only Mountain Hawks to qualify for championship finals on Friday. The freshman placed seventh in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.18. Simon qualified for the consolation final and placed 16th.

In the 100 yard butterfly, the Mountain Hawks had three consolation finalists. Barletta took tenth overall with a time of 57.43. Smalley followed in 14th, while Pollitt finished in 16th place.

Freshman Emily DiDonato led Lehigh in the 100 yard breaststroke placing 13th with a time of 1:07.20. Naylor placed 16th. Smalley and Pollitt made the consolation finals in the 100 back, with Smalley placing 13th and Pollitt taking 14th place.

On the men’s side, Lehigh was led by freshmen Tyler Lareau and Alex Aboud who set individual school records. Lareau notched the highest individual finish for Lehigh so far in the championships, taking second in the 100 back with a school-record time of 50.06 seconds. Two Mountain Hawks qualified for the B-final, with sophomore Angelo DiGiacinto placing tenth and junior Billy Dunne taking 15th.

Aboud set a school record in the 400 IM by winning the consolation final with a time of 4:02.41. Previous record holder Kevin McGrath finished 11th while Chris Toth took 12th.

In the final race of the night, Lareau, Andrew DiPietro, Toth and Frank Cuzzola took third in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:45.77, breaking the record of 6:46.39, set in 1991.

Lehigh placed two men in the finals in the 200 free. Cuzzola placed fifth with a time of 1:40.64, while DiPietro placed seventh with a time of 1:41.72. Junior Matt Alford and senior Ryan Guttormsen made the consolation final, taking 14th and 16th respectively.
