Patriot League announces preseason crew poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its 2007 preseason poll on Thursday afternoon and the Mountain Hawks garnered 14 votes, en route to being selected fourth in the poll. Defending champion Bucknell received 29 votes, including five first place tallies, as the Bison claimed the top spot. They were followed by Navy (28), Colgate (19), the Mountain Hawks (14) and Holy Cross (10).

Lehigh finished fourth in last season’s championships, placing behind Bucknell, Navy and Colgate, and ahead of Holy Cross. Lehigh opens its 2007 season on Saturday, March 10 when the Mountain Hawks head to Philadelphia to compete versus Delaware, St. Joe’s and LaSalle.

The Patriot League Championships will once again be held at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass. for the 2007 Patriot League Championship, scheduled for April, 29. The championship will consist of three races: Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Eight.
