Lehigh cruises past Crusaders

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh moved back to five hundred in Patriot League play with a 14-5 win over Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Lehigh upped its record to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the league with the win while Holy Cross fell to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League. The game was a tight one for the first 30 minute with the two teams trading goals and Lehigh holding a 4-3 lead at halftime. The Mountain Hawks turned it on at the start of third period however and never looked back. Lehigh scored seven unanswered goals in the third and first part of the fourth to take an 11-3 lead before Holy Cross found the back of the net. Senior Tony Lowe led the Mountain Hawks with four goals and an assist on the afternoon. Lowe netted two of Lehigh’s five goals in the third period and tacked two more on for good measure in the fourth period. Sophomore Jeff Doran dished out four assists while scoring twice and freshman Andrew Lucas scored three goals and helped on two others in the win. Goalie Russ Kushner recorded nine saves and picked up the win for Lehigh. Dan Fink led Holy Cross with three goals and Mike McKee chipped in a pair of assists. Shaun McGowan and Paul Washington each scored a goal for the Crusaders in the loss. Lehigh returns to action on Tuesday April 2nd when it travels to Easton, Pennsylvania to take on archrival Lafayette in Patriot League action. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM. Score
