Lehigh splits with Bucknell

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh split a pair of games Saturday afternoon with Bucknell, falling in game one 3-1, while winning game two 4-0. With the split the Mountain Hawks move to 13-14 overall, 4-5 in the league, while Bucknell falls to 15-8 overall, 7-3 in the league.
In game one, five different players for Bucknell picked up hits, including Ben Stoll, Brian Day, Ben Krentzman, Kyle Walter, and Phil Bunting. Stoll and Day’s hits were for an RBI, while Brian Hirschberg also knocked in a run for the Bison. Kevin Miller picked up the win, pitching six strong innings, while striking out five Lehigh batters.
On the Lehigh side, Jesse Novalis, Jeremy Mack, Jeff Quiros, and Jeff Baker picked up hits. Mack’s single was good for an RBI, while Novalis doubled and scored a run.

In game two, the Mountain Hawks responded for a 4-0 victory. John Zaszewski and Jeremy Mack each managed two hit games. Mack drove in a run, as did Jesse Novalis, Andrew Smith, and Brian Cameron. Adam Marr went the distance on the mound for the Mountain Hawks, allowing only two hits, while striking out seven.
For Bucknell, Sam Moss and Brian Day posted the Bison’s only two hits. RJ Grant pitched six innings and allowed six hits, while striking out one.
Lehigh and Bucknell will play two once more, this time Sunday at Goodman Field. Start time is 12:00 p.m.
