Lehigh hosts two non-league games this week

Russell is now second on the team with a .430 slugging percentage, and on Saturday hit his second homerun of the season in Lehigh’s 5-1 win. Classmate Brendan McGaheran leads the team with a .449 slugging percentage and a .316 batting average. His team best 43 hits also rank fifth in the Patriot League and second among Patriot League freshmen. He is also second overall in the Patriot League with 12 doubles on the year.
As a team Lehigh’s pitching is the second best in the Patriot League, posting a 5.07 team ERA on the year. The Mountain Hawks pitching staff also ranks second in the league in strikeouts and saves, and they average just 3.90 walks per game, the third fewest in the league. With his fourth win on Saturday, Matteo remained tied for second in the league in wins and is second overall in the league with three complete games.
The Mountain Hawks’ top reliever out of the bullpen this season has been Andrew Grim, who has a 1.82 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched this year. Grim is holding opponents to a .182 average against, including just .212 with runners on base. He has yet to surrender a run during league play, a 15.2 scoreless inning streak that dates back to March 21.
NJIT comes into the game on a 22-game losing streak and is just 2-28 on the season. The Highlanders last win came back on March 7, an 18-11 victory at
