BETHELEHEM, Pa. – For the fifth time this season freshman Lauren Dykstra has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  The five Rookie of the Week awards ties the all-time league mark set by Colgate’s Katie McVeigh in 2003.  Dykstra netted a game-high five goals in Lehigh’s 17-9 come-from-behind victory over Holy Cross on Saturday, the Mountain Hawks first win over the Crusaders since 2003.  The first year standout also added one assist, seven ground balls and three draw controls.

Dykstra currently leads the Patriot League in goals (44) and points (54).  Her 44 goals this season are only four shy of breaking teammate Sara MacIntyre’s freshman record of 47 set in 2006.  The New Jersey native has started and scored in all 11 Mountain Hawk games, finding the back of the net three or more times on eight occasions.

Dykstra has also added 11 assists, a team-leading 33 ground balls and 20 draw controls.  She also leads the Brown and White with ten free position goals.

Dykstra and the Mountain Hawks return to action on Saturday afternoon when they play host to league rival Navy in the first-ever meeting between the schools in women’s lacrosse.  The opening draw control is set for 12:00 from the Ulrich Sports Complex and complete audio and video coverage of the game will be available on Lehighsports.com.
