Lehigh downs visiting Drexel 7-0 on Sunday

Drexel picked up its only win of the match at No. 1 doubles, where sisters Emily and Mellissa Lewis beat juniors Allie Schwartz and Ruthie Furman. The doubles point came down to the No. 2’s and Lehigh sophomores Julie Arthofer and Stacey Reich held off Hana Stecova and Melissa Bohm 9-7 to clinch the first point.
In singles play, Lehigh clinched the match with three straight set wins at the first three flights from Schwartz, Arthofer and senior Alexis Jacobi. Furman needed a third set ten point tiebreak to win her match at No. 4 singles, while Reich and junior Victoria Vityuk won eight points super sets to complete the shutout.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Monday March 3 when they open up their spring break trip with a match at Florida Tech at noon.
