BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced the 2007 preseason poll on Wednesday and the Mountain Hawks were selected to finish sixth, garnering 19 votes.  Defending champion Holy Cross was picked to repeat, as the Crusaders garnered 48 votes, including eight first place selections.  Colgate was second, followed by Bucknell, American, Lafayette and Lehigh.  The preseason poll is voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Lehigh returns the 2006 Patriot League Rookie of the Year in Sara MacIntyre, along with All-League selections Amy Chamberlain and Christy Smith.  In addition, the Mountain Hawks bring back a number of players that gained valuable experience a season ago, and will team with a talented group of newcomers in ’07.

Lehigh opens its season on Saturday, February 24 when the Mountain Hawks welcome the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut to town.  Game time is set for 11:30 AM from the Ulrich Sports Complex.
