MacIntyre named Rookie of the Week again

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the second time this season, freshman Sara MacIntyre has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week.  MacIntyre scored 15 goals and handed out two assists for 17 points in the Mountain Hawks three contests last week.  The Arts and Sciences major also added six ground balls and three draw controls.

 

In Lehigh’s game versus Monmouth on March 15, MacIntyre scored four goals and dished out two assists.  She also scooped up four ground balls and won three draw controls.  Against St. Joe’s on March 17, MacIntyre tied her career-high with seven goals, including the game-winner and she also added two ground balls, as the Mountain Hawks won 12-11.  MacIntyre also scored seven times versus Fairfield in her first-ever collegiate game.

 

On Sunday, MacIntyre again scored the game-winner, as Lehigh downed Longwood 13-11 to win its second straight contest.  The freshman wound up with four goals on the day, giving her a team-leading 23 thus far in 2006.  She has handed out four assists as well, to give her a team-best 27 points.

 

MacIntyre and her Mountain Hawk teammates return to action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome the Crusaders of Holy Cross to the Ulrich Sports Complex for a Patriot League showdown.  Game time is scheduled for 1:00 and all of the action will be broadcast live on lehighsports.com with streaming audio and video powered by Yahoo!
