BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following a fourth place finish and spot in the Patriot League Tournament a season ago, Lehigh has been selected to finish fourth in the 2006 preseason poll, as announced by the league on Tuesday.  The poll is voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors.  Reigning league champion Colgate was selected to repeat in the poll, followed by American, Holy Cross, the Mountain Hawks, Bucknell, Villanova and Lafayette.

With All-League performer Amy Chamberlain returning, as well as captains Eileen Miller and Caitlin Carney, head coach Liz Ota has a nice trio of players to lead this year’s squad.  Ota is also very excited and impressed with this year’s freshman class, many of whom she expects to have an impact from the start.

Lehigh opens its season on Wednesday afternoon, February 22 in Fairfield, Conn. versus the Stags of Fairfield.  Game time is slated for 3:30.
