Lehigh earns convincing win in regular season home finale

But for Lehigh it was the seventh inning that put the game out of reach. Leading by a 7-1 score, the Mountain Hawks sent eleven batters to the plate, scoring six times on eight hits in the inning.
Second baseman Matt Geiger led the charge offensively for Lehigh, going 3-for-5 with a double, two runs driven in, and two runs scored. Right fielder Nick Bet, center fielder Joe Ercolano, third baseman John Zaszewski, and designated hitter Jeff Benfield all registered two hits apiece in the win. Ercolano also scored twice and drove in a pair.
The Mountain Hawks left nine runners on base in the win.
On the mound, Lehigh freshman Billy Alec was dominant. The right-hander threw seven strong innings, allowing just two hits and one run while striking out five. Alec improves his record to 2-0 with the victory.
