Mountain Hawks roll past American, 6-1, on Saturday

Lehigh got off to a rousing start as the Mountain Hawks swept all three doubles matches in convincing fashion to capture the doubles point. The Lehigh tandem of Starr Foster and Alexis Jacobi got things started with an 8-4 victory over American’s Julia Colarusso and Tessa Hollyn-Taub. At second doubles, Maria Anorga and Gwen Dwyer of Lehigh proved too much for AU’s Rachael Honig and Brandi Kligman, 8-5. At third doubles, Lehigh’s Ashley Donohue and Lindsay Long rolled to an 8-2 triumph over American’s Ward and Hollinger.
Lehigh kept rolling at singles, winning five of the six flights on the afternoon. Starr Foster (fourth singles), Cessa Murasko-Blank (fifth), and Ashley Donohue (sixth) were all straight-sets winners for the Mountain Hawks on the day. Gwen Dwyer (top flight) and Alexis Jacobi (second flight) also earned victories for Lehigh.
In all, four Mountain Hawks picked up both a doubles win and a singles win at American on Saturday.
