Mountain Hawks drop Patriot League opener to Army

The three doubles contests featured tightly contested matches. After the Black Knights won at first doubles 8-3, Maria Anorga and Gwen Dywer came back to win 9-8 at second doubles. It would come down to third doubles, but Lindsay Long and Ashley Donahue came up just short losing 9-8 to Pam Chavez and Amanda Paluch so Army held an early 1-0 lead.
The Black Knights extended their lead in singles play as they won all six matches, five of them in straight sets. Maria Anorga came the closest for the Brown and White, losing 7-6, 6-7, 10-3 at fourth singles.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the court on Saturday, April 2, when they travel to the nations capital to take on American at 2:00.
