Mountain Hawks wrap up Florida trip with convincing win

Freshman Joe Matteo (1-0) was dominant on the mound for Lehigh, allowing just one run in 5.1 innings of work. He struck out seven en route to the victory.
At the plate, Lehigh batted around with two outs and no one on to produce three runs in the fifth. David Moscow began the rally with a double, and after John Zaszewski walked, Matt McBride singled home the first run of the game. Forrest Doane registered a single to load the bases, and then Andrew Smith brought home Zaszewski with a single. Matt Geiger continued the rally by plating McBride to make the score 3-0.
In the sixth, the Mountain Hawks scored four times to put the game out of reach. Zaszewski doubled in two runs to make the score 5-0, and then Doane blasted a two-run homer to right – his third homer of the season – to give Lehigh a 7-0 advantage.
Geiger finished the day 4-for-5 at the plate with a double, stolen base, and two runs scored for the Brown and White.
