Lehigh opens season with 9-3 win at Coppin State

Baltimore , MD - Lehigh opened its 2005 season with a 9-3 victory over Coppin State on Wednesday afternoon.  Senior Jack Muscalus picked up the win on the hill for the Brown and White, while fellow senior Forrest Doane collected two doubles on the day and scored three runs.  The Mountain Hawks now stand at 1-0 on the young season, while the Eagles remain winless at 0-8.

 

Junior Andrew Smith, and sophomores Steve Salemme and David Moscow both had two hits on the day for Lehigh, while Smith and Moscow drove in two runs on the day.  The final line for Lehigh read as follows: 9 runs, 12 hits and one error, while on the hill Musclaus let up the two runs in five innings of work.

 

Lehigh returns to action this weekend as the Mountain Hawks travel to take on the Hornets of Delaware State for a three-game series, with a doubleheader on Saturday in Dover, Del.
