Lehigh names Brode Ota women's lacrosse coach

“Liz is a product of our department, and in many ways she represents what we all work so hard to develop in the young people with whom we work,” said Lehigh Athletics Director Joe Sterrett. “She knows well the instability of our past several years, and has thoughtfully committed to restoring a stable and enduring record of success and pride. I believe her appointment will be well received by our alumni and squad, and by the lacrosse community.”

During her playing days at Lehigh, Liz Brode led her team in both field hockey and lacrosse, earning national acclaim. She was named as a two-time second team All-American by lacrosse coaches, and was the Patriot League’s Most Valuable Player as a senior in 1995. As a junior midfielder, she finished third in the nation in goals scored. In field hockey, the two-time captain scored 19 points as a senior.
Ota earned her degree from Lehigh in 1995. She recently graduated with her J.D. from the Beasley School of Law at
Ota and her husband Kenji reside in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, and they are expecting their second child in August.
