Bethlehem, PA – Senior Rosie Sherry was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week. Sherry has helped the Mountain Hawks to a perfect 3-0 start to the season.
After three games, Sherry has a team-leading 11 caused turnovers and is tied for the team lead with eight ground balls. She has helped a stout Lehigh defense hold Mt. St. Mary’s, Manhattan, and Drexel to 4.67 goals. Sherry added a goal in the 13-5 win over Manhattan and also snatched four ground balls in the season opener against Mt. St. Mary’s.
"Rosie has been tenacious in the midfield," head coach Judy Baxter said. "She has been causing a lot of turnovers and recovering the ground balls, enabling us to transition into our offense."
Sherry and her Mountain Hawk teammates will look to make it four in a row when they host St. Joseph’s on Tuesday at 4:00 at the Ulrich Sports Complex.
