Sarah Hendrix enters her fourth season as head coach for the Lehigh women’s tennis program in 2020-21 after spending one season as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2016-17.

During her third season at the helm, Hendrix coached the Mountain Hawks to a 6-6 record. The season was ultimately cut short due to COVID-19. During the year, the Mountain Hawks jumped out toa hit start, as Lehigh jumped out to its quickest five wins in the last 15 years.

In the 2018-19 season, Short helped guide a young Mountain Hawks team to eight wins. Lehigh ended the season on a high note, winning four of its last five matches before being edged in the Patriot League Tournament.

In her first season as head coach, Short led the Mountain Hawks to an overall record of 11-10 with a mark of 4-3 against Patriot League opponents. She led Lehigh to the No. 4 seed in the Patriot League Tournament where the Mountain Hawks were edged, 4-3, by No. 1 seed Navy in the semifinals.

Short came to Lehigh after four years as the Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach at Carnegie Mellon University, where she was named the ITA Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year. Carnegie Mellon finished in the top 11 of the national team rankings in all four seasons of Short’s tenure. Short helped mentor seven All-Americans, five NCAA Championship singles qualifiers and two NCAA Championship doubles teams while working with the Tartans. Short also helped guide the Carnegie Mellon team to academic success, as the squad earned ITA All-Academic Team honors in every season throughout her four years with the Tartans.
 
As 2012 graduate of Denison University, Short was a two-time ITA Division III All-American and helped her nationally-ranked team reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament for three-straight years. Short was a two-time NCAA doubles qualifier and one-time singles qualifier. A three-time first team All-Conference selection, she set the school record for most single-season doubles wins while serving as a team captain during her senior season.
 
A Pittsburgh native, Short earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Denison in 2012 before going on to earn a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014.
