Henry D’Alberto ’97 is in his 20th season as Lehigh’s head men’s golf coach. The former Patriot League Player of the Year won a Patriot League team title as a player and is now a two-time Patriot League Coach of the Year after guiding the Mountain Hawks to the 2013 and 2023 league titles as a coach.
In 2024-25 campaign was highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Lehigh Invitational. Juniors Aiden LeBlanc and Jake Roth were the top performers on the course, with Roth garnering second team All-Patriot League honors for his performance at the league championship.
The 2023-24 season saw Lehigh win two tournaments, its own Lehigh Invitational and Lafayette’s Invitational. Sam Barton capped his career as a three-time All-Patriot League honoree.
Lehigh's 2022-23 season was one to remember. Under D'Alberto's guidance, Lehigh won four tournaments during the academic year, capped by a victory at the Patriot League Championship, the program's fourth all-time and first in 10 years. Senior Daniel Song was the Patriot League's individual champion, the first Lehigh player to win the event since 2001, and added Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors as well as All-Region recognition to his senior campaign. Sophomore Aidan Oehrle added first team All-Patriot League honors with a third place finish. Lehigh was selected to participate at the NCAA Regional at Bear's Best Las Vegas.
The 2021-22 season was highlighted by top five finishes at the fall Columbia Invitational and Lehigh Invitational. Juniors Daniel Song and Sam Barton garnered All-Patriot League honors with top 10 finishes at the league championship, marking the first time since 2018 that Lehigh had multiple all-league honorees.
In the spring of 2021, D’Alberto led a Lehigh team that topped a 13-team field to win Lafayette’s ABARTA Collegiate Invitational in April. The Mountain Hawks finished sixth at the Patriot League Championship with sophomore Sam Barton earning first team All-Patriot League honors with his third place finish. Owen Quinn capped a stellar Lehigh career as a three-time Academic All-Patriot League honoree, who’s 74.625 career scoring average ranks among the lowest in program history.
In 2016-17 D’Alberto led a young Mountain Hawks squad that featured zero seniors to a team title in the 19-team Wildcat Invitational and a second place finish in the 12-team Lehigh Invitational. Lehigh swept rival Lafayette in both match play, to reclaim the President’s Cup, and in stroke play, and rallied with a strong final day to finish fifth at the Patriot League Championship. Freshman Ryan Kelly earned Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors, the first for a Lehigh golfer since 2007 and was a first team All-Patriot League selection. In addition, freshman Owen Quinn and sophomore Johnny Hsu both won individual titles.

Freshman Billy Johns won the Wildcat Invitational to become Lehigh’s first tournament medalist since 2007 and its first in a large-field event since 2004. Harley Abrams capped his Lehigh career by earning All-Patriot League honors for the third time.
D’Alberto led the Mountain Hawks to four top three tournament finishes in 2013-14, including a third place finish at the Patriot League Championship, which marked the program’s third consecutive top three team finish at the league championship. Junior Carlos Kim and sophomore Harley Abrams both placed in the top ten at the Patriot League Championship to earn second team All-League honors.
The 2012-13 campaign was historic for Lehigh as D’Alberto guided his alma mater to its first Patriot League championship since 1997 and the program’s first-ever NCAA Regional appearance. Playing on its home course at Saucon Valley Country Club, Lehigh had three individuals earn All-Patriot League honors as the Mountain Hawks held off Navy by seven strokes. For his efforts, D’Alberto was voted Patriot League Coach of the Year for the first time.
Alex DiClemente and Abrams earned first team All-League honors, while Kim garnered a spot on the second team. In addition to its Patriot League title, Lehigh won team championships at the Bucknell Invitational in September and the Lafayette Invitational in April, the program’s first tournament titles since 2009. The Mountain Hawks completed their season at the NCAA Regionals at Arizona State.

Senior Steve Suarez was named the Patriot League’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Suarez, along with junior Dwight D’Iorio and Marcincin all were named to the All-Patriot League Teams.
In the 2008-09 season, the Mountain Hawks leader led the Brown and White to a pair of first place finishes (Lafayette Invitational, Lehigh Valley Cup) and he mentored a pair of All-Patriot League performers in Shane Gilroy ’09 and current team member Duncan Zeiders.

He was a first-team All-Patriot League selection all four years and was a two-time first-team All-District II honoree. In 1996, D’Alberto became the program’s first-ever Patriot League individual champion en route to leading the then-Engineers to their first-ever Patriot League team championship. A winner of four college tournaments, D’Alberto’s made a lasting impact on the Patriot League by being named to the Patriot League All-Decade Team and the Patriot League 25th Anniversary team.
D’Alberto had a successful amateur golf career, playing in four USGA national championships. He competed in three consecutive U.S. Amateur Championships (1995, 1996 and 1997) and was one of three players to represent Pennsylvania in the 1997 USGA State Team Championship. In 1997, he won three awards in the Lehigh Valley, including Lehigh Valley Amateur Champion, Lehigh Valley Tournament of Champions Champion and the Lehigh Valley Player of the Year.
Following his graduation from Lehigh, D’Alberto moved south to golf haven Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to fulfill his dream of being a professional golfer. While in Florida, he played on the Golden Bear Tour and qualified for its season ending tour championship. He moved back north in 2003 to play on the New England Golf Pro Tour. Also in 2003, D’Alberto advanced to the second stage of the 2003 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament where he recorded a 65, which was the lowest round in his professional career. He played in the 2004 US Open Section Qualifier and had his best tournament finish at the 2005 Cleveland Golf Tour Event, where tied for sixth with a score of 208 (72-68-68). Throughout his professional career, D’Alberto has made numerous cuts on various tours. He was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Golf Hall of fame in 2016.
D’Alberto earned his bachelors in Finance from Lehigh in 1997. In addition to his coaching duties at Lehigh, he currently owns a brokerage firm in Easton, Pa.
